"We have worked with Jim(Andrew) and Nicola for a number of years and they have professionally helped us manage significant works. Thorough advice and treatment of dry rot and replacement roof. This has also included continual checks that rot hasn’t returned! They have installed a new bathroom and are currently replacing the front of our double property. I would recommend their work for thoroughness, honesty and flexibility" - Rob and Lesley Bishop

"Jim Daniels and Nicola Tasker have been helping us renovate a small village house in Lonlay l'Abbaye over several years. The house needed to be almost completely gutted, as it had been neglected for many years and used only as an occasional holiday place. The plumbing and electric were ancient and unsafe, as disclosed by diagnostics and an inspection before we bought the property.

Step by step, beginning with demolition down to the dirt floors and stone walls, Jim and Nicola were very clear about describing the necessary work to be done and broke down each step into a separate bid (devis) which we approved before work began. Much of the early work had to be done while we were still living in the United States. When we did visit France and Lonlay l’Abbaye they were always good about meeting with us and we appreciated their genial and positive attitude about the job. Concrete and wood beams were laid for the new ground floor, metal stud walls were put in, and eventually electric wiring and plumbing, all the way up to the attic. Again, each step of the way, Nicola and Jim would listen to our concerns, and make recommendations. We very much appreciated the digital photos they would send us as each stage came to completion.

If a cost item was not measurable or knowable in advance (such as variable plumbing fittings), we were informed as to the approximate cost in the devis and the final amount was noted and broken down in the facture. In some cases, we wanted to supply the materials, as in the case of wood flooring we had shipped to the house, and Nicola was always very good about coordinating with deliveries, as well as communicating on our behalf with utilities. When we wanted their assistance in picking out materials for the bathroom and kitchen, they met us at the building supply stores in Caen and Nicola translated on the spot to assist us in making the purchases.

Of course we are not building or construction experts, but we have been pleased with the quality of each step of the work performed by Nicola, Jim and their associates. We were particularly impressed with how completely they were able to fit out our miniscule bathroom, and how well they custom fit standard kitchen cabinets and appliances into the odd angles we wanted to preserve on the ground floor. Our village house is now habitable, and we look forward to furnishing it and being able to spend time there. There are still some finishing projects in the attic that we will be calling on them to do.

Beginning with the first visit, we have chronicled the progress of our village house at http://www.atinyhouseinnormandy.com/blog. We hope that the photos there will give you some idea of the transformative powers of Jim Daniels and Nicola Tasker" - Ellen and Joseph Aragon

"I have worked with Andrew over the past three years, and have referred a number of clients to him both for timber and damp treatment work and also general building works in respect of renovations and especially in the area of the strengthening of buildings where cracking has occurred in the walls.  This is an area of expertise that Andrew excels and his solutions to problems often in accordance with my advice have been very successful. Andrew has also the ability and the modern equipment to carry out works which require earth moving and installation of septic tanks etc.  I highly recommend his work which I have always found to be competitively priced in the market place".
Nick Warner, Wellesley House Surveying.

"We had a major problem with the structure of our property in France which we were very concerned about.
We contacted Andrew Daniels who gave us some good advice.
The work was carried out to an excellent standard in the time frame agreed. The property was also left very clean after the work had been carried out. We were worried about employing a builder we had not used before to work on our house in France when we weren’t there but we would have no hesitation in using this builder again. He is already in the process of completing further work for us. The communication during the work was very good with regular photos sent to keep us up to date. We highly recommend Andrew Daniels for an excellent service throughout."
Geoff and Lisa Seaman, Calvados

"In 2013 we had to replace our entire Fosse Septique system.  We were lucky enough to be put in touch
with Andrew Daniels.  Even though he had to travel two hours to reach us, his
''devis''  was much better than a more local firm.  He and his excellent team did a marvellous job,  not only of the actual installation, but also in leaving the site as level and tidy as was possible.  For three days they trundled big machines across our garden taking immense care not to damage anything,  and that in itself was no mean feat,  given the
amount of planted areas and the position of the hole.... It was a great relief to us to have people on the job who thought about what they were doing.   The 'Micro Station' worked perfectly. We would thoroughly recommend them."

Mary and William, Orne

"The team have tackled my eccentric barn renovation project with good humour and practical solutions. So far they have repaired the roof,  dealt with the woodworm, installed two bathroom suites & installed a wood-burning stove. These were all planned works delivered on time and to the originally quoted cost.  When my boiler cracked they met the emergency and quickly replaced it."
Julia Wall, Manche

"Andrew and Nicola rebuilt a wooden barn and repaired a gable wall using tie bars for us. They were a pleasure to work with, their quote was competitive and the quality of the work was excellent. They went out of their way to complete the works to a high standard and even brought the job in below the quoted price, when a job was less complicated than originally thought. I would highly recommend Andrew and Nicola, and look forward to providing them with more work in the future"
Gary & Julie Tye, Brittany

"In March, I had my roof and guttering replaced, added insulation and external painting.  All this was done to a high standard and just as important dust and mess kept to a minimum. Although it was necessary to alter my original work schedule and quote, mainly due to the previous owners adaptions!  and most importantly to keep
within current French building laws, all this was taken in  Andrew's and his team's stride, to me it was a daunting task but nothing seemed to faze them. I was continually kept informed of all the changes that were required.  I would not hesitate to recommend Andrew Daniels."

Sally Pask, Manche

"We bought a house in Normandy France; there were a few major works that needed to be carried out. This consisted of a new roof, skylight windows; tie bars around the house, a new fosse, complete electrical re-wire and installation of a new shower. The work was completed to a very high standard; it was a pleasure working with Andrew, Nicola and their team. They were very helpful, polite and trustworthy. As we were back in England they kept us up to date with what was going on and sent us photos of various stages of the progress. I am currently doing some personal D.I.Y to the house. I'm always able to call Andrew for advice and guidance. We recommend them very highly and would
use his company again."
